Sometimes life throws us a curve ball and we come to areas in our lives where we feel like were pushed up against a wall and think we have no one to lean on. Here in martin county we don't want our fellow brothers and sisters feeling like this, so we're here to lend a helping hand... whether it be a hot meal, a place to stay, financial struggles, drug/alcohol abuse, marital problems, or you just need someone to talk to, it could be anything at all. One of our own has been overseas serving our country and FOOLS AS ONE is here to support Dan Hudnet, his family and fellow soldiers he serves with. FOOLS AS ONE has already sent some supplies and will continue to send items that are not available to them in Iraq. We are still accepting donations that help fund the supplies, shipping and in the near future will help purchase more air-time for his satellite telephone that keeps Dan and his crew in touch with family here in the United States. FOOLS AS ONE would like to thank Luminaries for the huge article about our organization. However, there were a few things that we would like to make sure everyone has the correct information on. First and foremost, It's a FOOLS Christmas was an original idea developed by Karl Oneyear for the Christmas year 2007 of which FOOLS AS ONE assisted along with several other firefighters to complete his idea. We have discussed his ideas and wish to expand on this throughout Martin County for 2008 as "It's a FOOLS Christmas" and look forward to Karl coming aboard with us and making the difference here in Martin County. Next we would like to let everyone know FOOLS AS ONE has been working with House of Hope for some time on several levels. We have given donations of food and most recently assisted in their organized food drive. In regards to fund raisers and donations listed in the article, we are 100% staff without any salaries. However, a portion of each event does go into some of the cost in hosting the event or into training funds for education classes hosted by FOOLS AS ONE. If you should have any other questions or concerns please let one of us know. It is our goal to keep everyone informed of our business in "Firefighters giving back to the community."
